Conversion of static Z-car to slot car

This 1/32 scale plastic static Datsun (what it was called in America) 240-Z was purchased to create a slot car. Recently, as of September 2017, I got back into the hobby of slot cars. As such i decided to add many cars to my growing collection and those cars would be ones I'd watch racing in the '50s, '60s and '70s and or one's I'd owned as 1:1 cars.

The Z car kit is quite detailed and of course provides more parts than I'd use in the slot car conversion. The body looks just right, the windows fit quite well and the body panel lines are quite distinctive and good looking. The conversion was done using a G-Force chassis/motor set up. Which means the car is pretty much a shell on a chassis. The interior came from another older scrap Z car.

The Z proudly joins my other Datsun's in my 1/32 race team. Those would be a 510 Sedan and a 2000 Roadster. All painted in schemes and colors similar to ones on the 1:1 cars of the time.
