The type KIHA 10 is a diesel railcar with no driver's cab and no toilet. It was introduced to operate as a single unit during off-peak hours or to be added to the type KIHA 17. It ran in mixed formations with type KIHA 16, 17, and KIHA 20, 30, 55, and 58, and was also used for single unit operation on branch lines such as the Itsukaichi Line and Futamata Line. The fleet was replaced by the type KIHA 40 and retired around 1980.
