The TAKI type 43000 is a 43-ton gasoline-only freight car introduced in 1967. In 1989 a 44-ton group was introduced by reducing part weight and enlarging the tank body; these were numbered in the 200,000 range. All trains were originally owned by Nippon Oil Transportation and initially painted black. Later vehicles received the same two-tone green and gray livery as the TAKI type 1000.
