The series24-24 model was introduced in 1973 as an evolution of the series 14 sleeping car. It returned to a centralized power supply system while maintaining the sleeping car design, offering a classic look and improved electrical layout. This reproduction models the OHANEFU 24-0 from the Aomori Train Center that operated on the Akebono and Nihonkai services, featuring the modified conductor compartment windows and external end gutters found on that set.
