In 1990, the fifth-generation KS/KV-type Subaru Sambar debuted, accommodating new mini vehicle standards with an expanded engine capacity of 660cc. Known for its retro design, the "Dias Classic" was introduced as an upgraded trim for the van "Dias" in 1993, triggering the retro-style mini vehicle boom of the late '90s. Its charming appearance remains popular, still seen as beloved mobile catering vehicles today.
In the TLV-NEO series, the Sambar Dias Classic was productized in 2021 and received high acclaim. The new version appears once again, with the N249e featuring the two-tone green/cream added in 1996, and the N249f celebrating the 40th anniversary of Subaru vehicles in 1998. Despite its compact size of approximately 6cm in length, the model features an opening passenger-side sliding door, expanding the possibilities for playful interaction.
