Hokuetsu Express is a third-sector railway company that operates the 59.5 km "Hokuhoku Line," which connects Muikamachi on the Joetsu Line and Saigata on the Shinetsu Main Line, with Tokamachi at its center.
The series HK100 trains have been in operation since the opening of the Hokuhoku Line.
A renovation project that began in 2009 brought changes to the exterior paint scheme, and the original design was discontinued. However, in April 2025, the original design was restored, and two cars are now operating in the classic livery.
-The train can be motorized to an N scale train and is compatible with TM-14 Motorized Chassis, TT-04R Trailer Conversion Kit, and Tomix 0258 Pantograph.
