After the production of the RX-7 was halted, the history of the rotary engine experienced a temporary gap until it resumed with the introduction of the RX-8 in 2003. Although designed as a four-door, four-seater, the compact rotary engine was essential to embody Mazda's vision of a sports car. While retaining the image of Mazda's historic sports cars, the RX-8 achieved a suitable evolution for the 21st century. It underwent significant interior and exterior modifications in 2008 and was produced until 2012, being recognized as the last rotary sports car to date.

In August 2024, TLV-NEO has commercialized the RX-8 late model with a new mold. The hood can be opened and closed, and the engine cover is detachable, allowing a glimpse into the engine room. The new navy color introduced this time was the main color at the debut of the late model. Enjoy this alongside the commonly seen black body on the streets.
