The JNR series KIHA 08 was created in 1960 by converting the OHa 62 passenger cars into diesel railcars.
They were originally designated as the first-generation series KIHA 40, but were renamed the series KIHA 08 in 1966.
In addition to the dual-cab KIHA 08 cars, the series also included the single-cab KIHA 45 (later KIHA 09), as well as the KIKUHA 45 and KisaHa 45, which were configured as control and trailer cars—fourteen vehicles in total.
This product is a two-car set featuring KIHA 08-2 and KIHA 08-3, both dual-cab units that mainly operated in Hokkaido.
Enjoy recreating nostalgic Hokkaido diesel consists by running them together with TOMIX models such as the KIHA 22, KIHA 01, and KIHA 03.
-The train can be motorized to an N scale train and is compatible with TM-16 Motorized Chassis and TT-03R Trailer Conversion Kit.
