The transverse engine SUV layout that is now the global standard for passenger cars was pioneered by the first generation RAV4 introduced in 1994.
The RAV4 originally appeared as a 3-Door short body, and the following year a 5-Door version bearing the V name was added, increasing its popularity. It was highly regarded overseas as well, with production continuing until 2000 as various versions were added, including open-top models, high-power engine variants, and electric models. TLV-Neo reproduces the 5-Door first generation RAV4 using new molds. In the Japanese market dealers used the L and J subnames, which were distinguished mainly by the grille mesh.
This release offers the L sold at Corolla dealerships in two color variations. The model comes equipped with optional parts such as a grille guard and fog lamps reflecting the mid-1990s RV boom. Please enjoy this model while reflecting on the history of the SUV as a mainstream passenger car.
