The Hankai Electric Tramway Type Mo 501 was originally built in 1957, during the Nankai Electric Railway era, with a total of five cars produced.
They debuted as high-performance vehicles incorporating the latest technology of the time. In 1985, they were upgraded with air conditioning and continue to operate to this day.
