JR Tokai Bus has introduced a new wrapped bus for its express services.
The “Retro Bus,” a wrapped bus based on the Hino S'elega, pays homage to the express buses that were active during the transition period from JNR Bus to JR Bus. It began operation on October 10, 2025.
The inaugural service ran as the Shin-Tomei Super Liner No. 54 departing from Nagoya Station Shinkansen Exit at 7:30, bound for Tokyo Station.
The bus’s operation schedule is not publicly announced, making it a special “premium” encounter for passengers—similar to the “Yellow Bus of Happiness,” you’re considered lucky if you happen to see it.
The bus is compatible with Moving Bus System Powered Motorized Chassis BM-04.
