The EV-E801 is a battery-powered train introduced in 2016 by East Japan Railway Company for use on AC electrified sections and in cold-weather regions.
Nicknamed “ACCUM” (short for AC Ultimate Motor), it operates as a two-car set consisting of one red car and one blue car coupled together.
Based on the BEC819 series of Kyushu Railway Company, the EV-E801 has been adapted for 50 Hz AC power supply and equipped with cold- and snow-resistant features.
It is primarily used on the Oga Line, and is also operated in four-car formations by coupling two two-car sets together.
-The train can be motorized to an N scale train and is compatible with TM-15 Motorized Chassis, TT-04R Trailer Conversion Kit, and Tomix 6713 Pantograph.
