On October 1, 2016, the Yokohama City Transportation Bureau launched three “Burari Sightseeing SAN Routes” — the Burari Sankeien BUS, Burari Red Brick BUS, and Burari Nogeyama Zoo BUS — to make it more convenient, comfortable, and easy for visitors to explore Yokohama’s tourist attractions.
Each route was operated using specially wrapped buses that made their destinations instantly recognizable. However, the Burari Red Brick BUS service was discontinued in 2020 following the launch of BAYSIDE BLUE.
Afterward, while retaining part of its original design, the vehicle continued to operate as a regular route bus. Recently, however, the special wrapping was removed and the bus was withdrawn from service.
