The E8 series is a train set for the Yamagata Shinkansen that began operation in March 2024. This series is set to replace the existing E3 series and is capable of running at a maximum speed of 300 km/h between Utsunomiya and Fukushima. A total of 15 sets are scheduled to be introduced by 2026.
