The 287 series is a DC express train developed based on the 683 series with the aim of replacing the 183 and 381 series.
The 287 series for "Kuroshio" began operation in March 2012 and actively runs between Kyoto and Shingu.
- JR West's express train 287 series "Kuroshio" is being renewed and productized.
- This product can recreate the 3-car formation connecting Shin-Osaka and Nara, operated during the morning and evening rush hours as "Raku Raku Yamato." By combining with the Add-on Set <97635>, the 6-car formation of "Kuroshio" can be recreated.
- JR mark and Green Car mark are pre-printed.
- Door steps come with pre-printed yellow stripes.
- Car numbers are selectable and come with a transfer sheet.
- A newly designed TN coupler (SP) is installed on the driver's cab side of the leading car.
- Head and tail lights are equipped with a constant lighting board and an ON/OFF switch.
- The headlights use white LED boards, and the tail lights use red LED boards.
- The headlights under the driver's cab recreate yellow and white lights through a color prism.
- Equipped with a flywheel motor.
- New power collection system with silver wheels.
- Features an M-13 motor.
