The E8 series is a train designed for the Yamagata Shinkansen, which began operations in March 2024. This series replaces the previous E3 series and is capable of running at a maximum speed of 300 km/h between Utsunomiya and Fukushima. A total of 15 train sets are scheduled to be introduced by 2026.
