The series 30000, introduced in 1978 as the third generation Vista Car, reached 15 trainsets in service by 1985. This series is notable for using the traditional Vista Car two-story structure on the two intermediate cars. The train was updated in 1996 and all cars were upgraded to Vista EX by 2000. The livery was refreshed and the series remains in service today.
