In the Ome Line, until 1978, older model electric trains were used, with the KUHA MOHA type 40 remaining active alongside the type 72 and 73 until the end.
By the 1960s, the Ome Line's older electric trains primarily consisted of two-car formations such as KUHA + MOHA combinations, or formations combining two of these pairs. However, starting around 1972, with the arrival of the MOHA 72 and SAHA 78, four-car formations of KUHA MOHA 73, SAHA 78, MOHA 72, KUHA 79 became the mainstay.
