About the Actual Aircraft

- The T-33 Shooting Star is a jet trainer aircraft that was primarily used by the United States Air Force from 1948, post-World War II. It was also utilized by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force and was a common sight in Japanese skies. Equipped with a single Allison J33-A-35 centrifugal turbojet engine, the aircraft could reach a top speed of Mach 0.8 without external armaments or tip tanks. It featured a tandem two-seat configuration and straight wings. By 1959, over 6,500 units had been produced, making it a bestseller used in more than 30 countries worldwide.
