About the Real Aircraft

The F-15J Eagle, the main fighter aircraft, is based on the F-15C deployed by the United States Air Force in 1974. The Japan Air Self-Defense Force customized this aircraft with unique systems like the J/TEWS Tactical Electronic Warfare System and a proprietary data link system. Since its deployment in 1982, the F-15J continues to be a pivotal player in Japan's aerial defense as of 2023. Known as Eagle Riders, the pilots boast high-level flying skills. To further enhance these abilities, selected elite pilots from the Air Self-Defense Force are chosen to compete in tactical competition events, also known as Senkyo, where various uniquely marked aircraft captivate enthusiasts' interest. The 2002 Senkyo event took place at Komatsu Air Base in Ishikawa Prefecture, featuring the 303rd and 306th Squadrons' aircraft, distinguished by bespoke markings incorporating unit emblems like dragons and golden eagles.

About the Model

The model is a plastic assembly kit based on the acclaimed 1/72 scale Platz Japan Air Self-Defense Force F-15J Eagle. It replicates the aircraft featured in the 2002 Senkyo event at Komatsu Air Base, specifically the units from the 303rd and 306th Squadrons. This model includes high-quality decals from Italy's renowned Cartograf company to accurately represent the dragon and golden eagle markings on the vertical tails. The overall realistic design is well-regarded for its precise reproduction of features like the aircraft's shape, landing gear, engine exhausts, and cockpit. The completed model, measuring approximately 27cm in length, provides notable presence.
