About The Real Aircraft
The A-10 Thunderbolt II is a specialized American military close air support and ground attack aircraft, operational since 1977. It features a distinct design characterized by its twin engines and straight wings. The aircraft is equipped with up to 11 hardpoints on its wing undersides and fuselage for carrying 7,260 kg of bombs, rockets, and missiles. It also features a GAU-8/A Avenger autocannon on its nose for high attack capability. Since 2005, the A-10C, an upgraded version with a glass cockpit, has been in service. The 354th Fighter Squadron, based at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona, has operated the A-10 since 1979 and is known for its involvement in missions like close air support, air interdiction, forward air control, combat search and rescue, and more.

The 1/48 scale model accurately captures the A-10C's distinct appearance, with a complete length of 338mm. It includes etched parts that enhance the sharpness of the cockpit’s pre-printed instrument panel and seat belts, landing gear details, wing characteristics, and an array of weaponry details. The set also includes a masking sheet for the canopy frame for easy painting. The markings are selected from the 354th Fighter Squadron known as the Bulldogs, based at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona, with deployment marks strikingly featured beside the cockpit.
