Description

This is a plastic model and assembly is required.

- Detailed reproduction of the Tiger I that fought fiercely in North Africa in 1943.

About the Real Vehicle:
- The early stages of the North African campaign during World War II were marked by battles between the German Afrika Korps led by Rommel and the British 8th Army under Montgomery. One significant event during this period was Operation Oxenkopf from February 26 to March 4, 1943. This battle represented one of the final confrontations between German and Allied forces and was considered the last organized combat by the German forces in North Africa. The 501st Heavy Tank Battalion, among the first to be equipped with Tiger I tanks, played a pivotal role in the battle around Sidi Nsir, Tunisia. The British countered the powerful Tiger I with 25-pounder guns and Churchill tanks, resulting in significant losses for the German side and eventual retreat.

About the Model:
- This model kit is a 1/35 scale plastic assembly kit recreating the Tiger I from the 501st Heavy Tank Battalion during the North African campaign, specifically during Operation Oxenkopf. Developed based on the latest research by Tiger I expert David Byrden, the model focuses on the vehicle as used in the late stages of North African operations. It features additional ammunition boxes from the Panzer III mounted on both sides of the turret's storage box, spare tracks attached to various hull sections, and a toolbox added to the right rear mudguard. The kit also includes assembly-style magic tracks, an aluminum machined barrel, and a range of marking options. Furthermore, it comes with copper wires for creating realistic towing cables.
