Teaming up with mechanic concept artist Josh Nizzi, the “Concept By Josh Nizzi” line brings out a new dimension of character charm. In this edition of the Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition series, the Evangelion Production Model Unit-02 makes its appearance!
Following the previously released Unit-01 and the Fourth Angel, this statue fuses bold artistic reinterpretation with respect for the original design. Nizzi has illustrated Unit-02 confronting an Angel by the seaside, striking a dramatic dual-wielding pose to create a heroic diorama.
The figure’s more humanlike body proportions are enhanced with symbolic panel detailing and internal mechanics. Common design elements with Unit-01 emphasize the series continuity. The vivid red color scheme combines anime-style brilliance with an industrial metallic sheen. Glowing features in the eyes and chest further emphasize the realism of the mecha, complemented by the finely detailed setting—complete with a sunken tanker and red, wave-tossed sea.
