Volkswagen Beetle 1303S
The VW Beetle, which debuted in 1938, underwent numerous minor changes and continued production until 2003, becoming a beloved vehicle worldwide. In 1971, the 1302 series was introduced, retaining the basic design with a rear-mounted, air-cooled, horizontally opposed engine, but changing the front suspension from the traditional torsion bar to the MacPherson strut system. It featured a distinctive bulging hood design. In 1973, the model was updated to the 1303 series, with a significantly curved windshield and larger tail lamps. The 1303 came equipped with a 1300cc engine, while the 1303S was powered by a 1600cc engine. Production of the 1303 series concluded in 1975, with the torsion bar type continuing thereafter. However, the convertible, based on the 1303S, was manufactured until 1979.
