Outfitting parts have been newly researched and redesigned. With extensive use of slide molds, this series faithfully reproduces the intricate detail of 1/700 scale ships. Discover the enhanced precision of the renewed Waterline Series.

The special submarine tender Nisshin was originally designed as a minelayer. It was later converted into a seaplane tender, and ultimately completed as a mother ship for midget submarines. In actual operations, however, she served as a heavily armed high speed transport, undertaking extremely dangerous missions before being sunk by enemy aircraft off Bougainville.

This kit faithfully captures her distinctive features: the three twin 14 cm gun mounts—unusually heavy armament for a seaplane tender—her imposing, multi tiered bridge structure, and the detailed aircraft handling facilities. Newly designed parts such as various seaplanes, seaplane catapults, and other fittings are also included, enhancing the precision and intricate feel expected of a 1/700 scale model.
