Kenmeri GT-R — The rare 197 units
The fourth generation Nissan Skyline C110 was launched in September 1972 as a full model change and became an instant hit. Popularized by the TV commercial catchphrase "Ken and Mary's Skyline," it earned the affectionate nickname Kenmeri. At the 19th Tokyo Motor Show that year, Nissan displayed the Skyline Hardtop 2000 GT-R racing version, which fueled excitement for the Kenmeri GT-R. Deliveries began in January 1973, but because the GT-R required leaded high octane fuel it could not meet the 1973 emission regulations, resulting in a very limited production run of around 197 units with approximately 195 sold before the model was discontinued.
