The anime is broadcast every Saturday on NHK E-Tele. George was created as a character appearing in the 1941 picture book "Curious George" by American picture book authors the Reys. In Japan the book was published in 1954 as the "Hitomanegozaru" series. Since then, George—who is curious about everything around him and causes lovable commotions and adventures—has been loved by many people.
