The ninth installment of the Legend Collection is the Tokyu Corporation 7000 Series. Manufactured
in 1962 through a technical partnership between Tokyu Car Corporation and the US-based Budd Company, this was Japan's first all-stainless steel car. It had a profound impact on subsequent railway vehicle technology and laid the foundation for the development of stainless steel cars in Japan. Originally designed for
direct service on the Hibiya Subway Line, it was also given priority for express service and served as the mainstay of the Toyoko Line during the Showa era. It also operated extensively on Tokyu lines, including the Den-en-toshi Line (Oimachi Line), Mekama Line, and Kodomo-no-Kuni Line, remaining in service until 1999.
Modified 7700 Series trains are still in service on the Ikegami Line, and many have been transferred to regional private railways, allowing them to be seen in Tohoku, Hokuriku, and Kansai.
Enjoy the unique, unconventional exterior of this N gauge train, featuring a unique body design modeled after the Philadelphia subway and Pioneer III bogies with exposed brake discs.
