The iconic San’in overnight express “Daisen,” known for its diverse mix of baggage cars, is now available as a model.
In 1968 (Showa 43), express trains connecting Osaka and Izumo City/Taisha via the Fukuchiyama Line were consolidated under the name “Daisen.” The DD54 locomotive, which had already been used in the final years of its predecessor “Oki,” took over traction duties, while the Izumo City–Taisha segment was famously hauled by the C11 until March 1972 (Showa 47).
The train featured a lively and varied formation, including baggage cars such as Mani 35, Suyuni 60, Mani 61, and Wasafu 8000. This release marks the first time Mani 35, Suyuni 60, and Mani 61 have been made available as models.
With a wide range of locomotive and car combinations, the “Daisen” offers flexible configurations to suit your preferred setup.
