A non-air-conditioned car has been added to KATO's lineup of Kiha 58 series renewal products.
From the late 1950s to the early 1960s, Kiha 58 series diesel express trains began appearing, connecting urban areas with branch lines. The "Iide" and "Zao" express trains departed Ueno Station on the Tohoku Main Line, splitting at Koriyama. The "Iide" traveled via the Ban'etsu West Line to Niigata, while the "Zao" continued north on the Tohoku Main Line, connecting Fukushima with Yamagata via the Ou Main Line. The "Zao" train also included a Kiha 58 series 800 in school trip livery. This allows you to recreate a train configuration with a variety of non-air-conditioned Kiha 58 series cars (0, 400, and 800 series).
