TAKI1000-1000 HO gauge model — special 1000th unit commemorative tank car
The TAKI1000 was introduced in 1993 as a high-performance tank car capable of operation at up to 95 km/h to speed up freight services. Production continued with improvements over 28 years, reaching a total of 1,008 cars by 2021. TAKI1000-1000 was completed as a special commemorative unit celebrating the 1000th car and is painted in a three-color stripe livery representing the three companies: Nippon Oil Transport (green), Japan Oil Terminal (blue), and JR Freight (light blue). Company logos and the inscriptions “TAKI1000-1000 commemorative” and “Environmentally friendly, safe and secure oil tank transport” appear on the tank sides.
