RAe II is an AC/DC electric multiple unit built for Swiss Federal Railways SBB for international service. Introduced in the 1960s, it worked as the first-class international Trans Europ Express TEE on routes such as Zurich to Milan on the Gotthard. Later downgraded and repainted as EuroCity, it operated into the late 1990s. After retirement it was designated a historic SBB vehicle, and around 2003 one set was restored to its TEE appearance with some equipment updates. It still runs today as an event train.
