The Tokyu 5000 Series debuted in 2002 as Tokyu's next-generation standard vehicle and started operations on the Den-en-toshi Line. The train is characterized by the red corporate color stripe as well as the green stripe representing the line color wrapped around the signboard area. It operates extensively across three prefectures, running direct services through the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line and the Tobu Skytree Line to Kuki on the Tobu Isesaki Line and Minami-Kurihashi on the Tobu Nikko Line.
- Manufactured as a 5117 formation consisting of the 7th and 13th units with integrated side destination displays

- Roof replicates the equipped Mitsubishi-made air conditioning units (CU708 model cooler)
- Middle section of the formation equipped with standard KATO coupler with hook, while the front equipped with dummy couplers
- Equipped with functional head/taillights and front destination displays (employing white LEDs)
- Smooth and quiet operation achieved by adopting a slotless motor
- Front display comes with "Express Chuo-Rinkan" preset. Includes replacements like "Local Oshiage", "Semi-Express Minami-Kurihashi", and a blank option
- Side displays with solid black print include destination display stickers
