Centered on the New No.1 Imperial Carriage built in 1960, the five-car Imperial Train No.1 set ran nationwide for many years as the imperial train. The imperial carriage was built to lightweight passenger car standards and places the imperial salon at the center, with antechambers, a powder room, and a lounge at the front and rear. The salon exterior panel carries the chrysanthemum imperial crest. The passenger cars coupled to the imperial carriage, known as attendant cars, are semi-steel three-axle bogie coaches built in 1931 and were modernized in equipment and interior finish when the New No.1 carriage was produced.
