The Series N700-6000 was introduced in September 2025 as a replacement for the series 500 and 700, primarily operating as Kodama on the Sanyo Shinkansen. Based on the series N700-5000 (Small A), it was shortened from a 16 car formation to an 8 car formation, with additional pantographs installed and some passenger windows blocked. The livery retains a white body with a blue stripe, and the former Green car seating remains as reserved seating.
As of February 2026, only the P4 formation converted from K4 is in service, with a total of ten formations planned for conversion and introduction.
