Kato 10-2168 Cruise Train 'Seven Stars in Kyushu' 8 Cars Set (N scale)

Seven Stars in Kyushu is JR Kyushu’s full-scale cruise train, which began operation on October 15, 2013. Designed around the concept “A journey to encounter a new life,” it tours Kyushu sightseeing destinations and enjoys huge popularity with both passengers and local communities.

- The real train is an eight-car formation composed of seven 77 series 7000 passenger cars plus the dedicated DF200-7000 locomotive, featuring an elegant, glossy finish and refined styling.

- A major renovation carried out in October 2022 converted car 2 from a dining car into the salon car “Jupiter” with a newly added tea room, and added a gallery shop and bar to car 3.

- Authentic exterior finish with shining emblems, locomotive grille, gold lines and lettering applied across the body, and a high-gloss polished body that faithfully reproduces the real train.

- DF200-7000 locomotive

  - Headlights illuminate using warm white LEDs.

  - Equipped with KATO knuckle coupler as standard.

  - Precisely reproduced heavy-duty bogies and accurate roof details.

  - Fully modeled driving cab interior including instrument panel, seat, and visible cab interior.

  - Powered by a GM-5 motor unit for smooth, stable running.

- 77 series 7000 cruise train passenger cars

  - Models the interior updates applied to the real train in 2022.

  - Car 2 (MASHI-F 77-7002) reproduces the converted salon and tea room interior.

  - Car 3 (MAINE 77-7003) reproduces the newly added gallery shop and bar; window-mounted shelving is expressed by engraving on the side glass.

  - Suites and carefully detailed cabin interiors visible through observation windows are accurately reproduced.

  - Lampshades visible from the windows of cars 1–3 are illuminated.

  - Distinct interior color schemes reproduced for each car.

  - Car ends feature tail lights and front lights used during push operations; lights can be turned off via a switch.

  - Between car couplers use body-mount KATO close-type couplers; the locomotive connection uses a KATO knuckle coupler.

  - DCC friendly for easy digital control and sound installation.
