- Overview:
- The Series 50 passenger cars were introduced in 1977 to replace older rolling stock and served as standard passenger cars on regional trunkline local services.
- Variants include the Series 0 for Honshu without electric heating, the Series 2000 with electric heating, and the Series 51 for Hokkaido.
- The OHAFU 50 includes a conductor's compartment and was used in flexible formations ranging from more than 10 cars to 2-car sets.
- This model reproduces the 2000 series OHAFU 50 in the post-JR transition appearance with the JR mark applied to the car side.
