Fujimi 1/700 Japanese Cruiser Tone 1944 Operation Shoichi-Go w/ Etched Parts

Introducing the TONE series with included etching parts!

The product is inspired by the appearance of the TONE, the lead ship of the Tone-class cruiser, during the Battle off Leyte in October 1944 (Showa 19). Featuring a 21 and 22 radar on the front mast and a 13 radar on the rear mast, along with numerous single 25mm machine guns. 

The kit includes etching parts that can depict even the most intricate details difficult to reproduce with injection parts. Included are railings, ladders, radars, cranes, and catapults.

- The 13 radar includes newly detailed truss structure parts with sculpted aerial lines.

- The 21 radar engraves intricate detail, such as the insulator base for element fixation, more delicate than conventional parts.

- The 22 radar uses slide molds to create an open state in the parts.

- The 12.7cm twin high-angle gun A1 mod 1 is finely divided into six parts for higher resolution compared to the previous two-part design.

- The 9-meter cutter is split into two parts for painting considerations, with an optional separate pedestal part.

- The 11-meter motor launch features canvas, steering cabin, and engine room hatch as separate parts for detailed painting and assembly.

- The ship's boat cradle shows embossed and perforated designs, adding to the precision look.

- New parts for the forward chrysanthemum crest, bridge side lights, and lifebuoys.

- Additional binocular parts for the anti-aircraft command center and compass bridge.

- Decals for ship's name at the stern and mast white lines are added.

- Standardized two-part construction of Type 96 25mm machine guns reduces painting and masking work.

Hull

- The hull is a stable one-piece structure molded on both sides, facilitating assembly better than split types.

- Sealed and unsealed portholes on the hull sides and comprehensive exterior electric pathways are rendered with three-dimensional engravings.

Upper Deck

- The upper deck is a unified part, with detailed engravings such as linoleum deck anchors and anti-slip coatings on the iron deck.

- Ammunition boxes are molded onto the deck.

Each Deck

- The shelter deck is a separate part, accurately reproducing the torpedo equipment compartment below.

- Rails leading to the aviation operations deck are cast as single pieces thanks to slide molds.

Bridge

- The ship's unique small bridge structure is reproduced with a layered construction method for detailing.

- Ladders and truss-shaped pillars are separate parts, enhancing precision.

Main Gun Turret

- The main gun barrel allows for adjustment in elevation angle by varying the attachment angle to the turret.

- Features intricate engraving with openings on the sides due to heat shields.

Funnel

- The forward and aft funnels are split laterally, showcasing delicate engraving for handrails and double scaffolding.

- The rain guard grates on the funnel are open, and the interior tube structure is visible.

- The steam vent pipe is a separate part for increased precision.

Mast and Aircraft Equipment

- The rear mast, with its detailed support and radar room parts, achieves a complex and refined finish despite minimal divisions.

- Catapult (Type 2 Model 5) is realistically recreated with slide molds for side and top sculpting.

Carrier-Based Aircraft

- Molded in gray to improve workability and prevent gate cut damage.

- Includes four each of the Type 0 (three-seater) seaplane reconnaissance planes.

Included Decals

- Three sizes of naval flags, scaled to 1/700 based on real dimensions.

- Aircraft markings, such as the rising sun and identification bands (yellow bands), are all included, with the rising sun in its late-war form without a white border.

- Decals covering mast white lines and gold or naval color-filled options for the ship's name at the stern.
