Basic specifications
- Glue assembly kit with a focus on finely detailed sculpting.

Historical motif
- Modeled on the ship's appearance at the time of the Pearl Harbor attack and immediately thereafter.
- No installed radar. Type 94 high angle machine gun mount fitted on the bridge and a single mount on the port side.
- Additional machine gun platforms on the bow and stern had not yet been installed.
- Flight deck markings and white lines reflect the December 1941 configuration.
- Includes a trio of carrier aircraft active at the outbreak of war: Mitsubishi A6M Zero Model 21, Aichi D3A Type 99 carrier bomber, and Nakajima B5N Type 97 carrier attack aircraft.

Structure, specifications and features
Hull
- Left and right split hull parts.
- Internal reinforcement parts included to secure strength.
- Side sponsons are designed as separate parts to provide three dimensional detail.
- External hull conduits added as built for naval preparation works, with delicate engraving including fasteners.
- All portholes are open to reflect the completed to wartime appearance.
- Hull bottom is designed to fit into the inner side of the hull; below the waterline is not represented.
Flight deck
- Single integrated flight deck part from bow to stern.
- Windbreaks and three elevators are separate parts.
- Elevators can be assembled in the lowered position as an option.
- Windbreaks can be chosen in folded down or raised positions.
- Fine sculpted detail for deck surface including wood deck areas with engraving depth optimized for panel lining.
- Expansion joints represented as engraved recesses.
- Drainage gutters around the flight deck are reproduced.
- Surfaces of the landing signal projections are sculpted with rounded recessed detail.
- Flight deck underside truss structures are expressed as three dimensional sculpting.
Bow and stern
- Anchor deck and stern deck are separate from the hull sides.
- Anchor deck integrates bollards and anchor stands in one piece.
- Deck surfaces feature very fine split anti slip pattern engraving.
- Flight deck support pillars are all separate parts to reproduce each individual pillar realistically.
- Chrysanthemum crest is provided both as an integrated engraving on the mounting plate and as a separate replacement chrysanthemum crest part for realistic finishing.
- Upper and lower short boat decks at the stern are each separate parts.
- Boat cradles are represented integrated into the deck with separate replacement cradles included that reproduce realistic shapes.
- Cradle details include lightening hole engraving and pad shapes.
- Deck surfaces on these areas also have very fine split anti slip pattern engraving.
- Included ship boats: 12 meter and 11 meter pinnaces, 13 meter special cargo boat, and 6 meter cutter.
PLUS version only
- Replacement parts for the 12 meter and 11 meter pinnaces designed to simplify painting.
- Structural components and rear canvas cover parts are provided as separate parts.
- Replacement part for the 13 meter cargo boat with wooden floor and canvas portions separated for extra realism.
- Additional separate parts for loading exercise gun and stern signal lamp to increase realism.
Bridge and funnels
- Bridge base is left and right split.
- Bridge windows are integrated with the navigation bridge part; molded in gray.
- Precision binocular parts for the anti air command post are included to enhance detail.
- Ladders, the 60 centimeter signal lamp and other small fittings are provided as individual parts.
- The 60 centimeter signal searchlight is provided as a transparent part in the PLUS version for a more realistic appearance; the standard version uses gray molded parts.
- Both funnels are built in upper and lower split parts.
- Funnel shapes including U shaped outer profiles and emergency smoke outlet molds are faithfully reproduced.
- Internal deflector plates and top grille structures are provided as separate parts.
Anti air armament
- 12.7 centimeter twin high angle guns reproduced as separate parts for shielded and unshielded configurations.
- Realistic replacement parts supplied for the 12.7 centimeter twin high angle gun A1 type.
- Wide elevation range and selectable open or closed shutter options for the gun side sight.
- Realistic replacement parts supplied for the 12.7 centimeter twin high angle gun with shielded Kai 2 type.
- 25 millimeter triple machine guns are supplied as finely detailed separate parts, not as one piece.
- Gun bodies and barrels are separate parts to allow simple paint separation and realistic finish.
- Assembly uses runner alignment and then fixation with liquid cement.
- Gun barrels can be painted gunmetal and bases in warship color for easy accurate finish.
Fittings
- Mooring booms are provided as separate parts from the hull sides.
- Option to assemble mooring booms in either deployed condition for anchoring or stowed condition for sailing.
- Gangways are separate parts to allow docked appearance.
- Additional dedicated parts for the port and starboard forward navigation lights.
Air group
- Aircraft canopies are clear parts for realistic reproduction. Three aircraft types included.

- Five of each type included, fifteen aircraft in total.
- A separate Japanese carrier aircraft set for early wartime period is available separately.

- D3A Type 99 carrier bomber modeled on the Model 11 features separate canopy, propeller, landing gear and bomb load parts.

Decals
- Includes three decal types across four sheets.
- One sheet contains flight deck white lines and other flight deck markings, newly researched and created in 2026.
- Flight deck markings cover Pearl Harbor operations, Indian Ocean operations, and Coral Sea engagement configurations.
- One sheet includes naval ensign, national flags and aircraft rising sun markings. Three sizes are provided scaled to 1/700 for the real 10 width, 6 width and 3 width variants.
- Aircraft marking decals are included.
- Two sheets include the stern ship name, white lines for the rear mast, draft marks and other hull markings.
- Stern ship name is supplied in two styles: gold lettering and solid warship color fill.
