Born in 1966 in Kokura, Kitakyushu City, he began oil painting in his middle school years. After entering high school, he studied under Kangyu Yamaguchi and shifted to calligraphy. Following university, he expanded his activities to design fields, inscribing brushwork for packaging, sake labels, CD jackets, posters, etc. Currently, he is exploring the role of calligraphy in Western-style modern living spaces as well as traditional Japanese ones, working with themes focused on modern calligraphy that is easily understood and not bound by conventional styles.
