About Yuseki Miki ():
Born in 1966 in Kokura, Kitakyushu. He began oil painting in junior high school. After entering high school he studied under Yamaguchi Kagyū and turned to calligraphy. After graduating university he expanded his activities into the design field, producing brush-lettering for packaging, sake labels, CD jackets, posters, and more.
He continues to explore the role of calligraphy both in traditional Japanese spaces and in everyday Western-style interiors, pursuing accessible modern calligraphy free from conventional constraints.
