The Russian Navy Kirov class is a 28,000-ton giant ship with a combined nuclear propulsion and steam turbine power source, the first of which, Kirov (later renamed Admiral Ushakov by the Russian Navy), was commissioned in 1980.
It was classified as a heavy nuclear guided missile cruiser. Its main weapons, the SS-N-19 cruise missiles and SA-N-6 anti-aircraft missiles, were launched vertically, and each part of the superstructure was inclined to give it stealth properties, making it an advanced design. It was also armored, which is rare for a modern combat ship.
