The Fuyutsuki was the eighth Akizuki-class ship, completed in May 1944. Due to simplified construction procedures, it was also called the Fuyutsuki-class.
It returned from the Battle of Cape Bo and remained in service until the end of the war. After the war, it was used as a minesweeper and later reclaimed as a warship breakwater at Wakamatsu Port in Kitakyushu City.
