About the Actual Vehicle

The AE500 Magnum is a tractor and trailer head produced by France's Renault from 1990 to 2013. It was offered with drive train options of 6x2 or 4x2. In 1991, it won the International Truck of the Year award. It underwent a model change in 2001, featuring a new grille, roof spoiler, and redesigned dashboard interior. The engine was upgraded to the E-Tech Euro 3 version, which improved fuel efficiency, and was available in 400hp, 430hp, and 480hp variations. Production of the AE500 Magnum continued until 2013, after which it was succeeded by the next-generation model.

About the Model

This plastic model assembly kit replicates the Renault AE500 Magnum truck at a 1/24 scale. It includes more than 250 parts to accurately recreate even the smallest details down to the chassis. Upon completion, the model measures 250mm in length and models the cab-over type AE500 Magnum. The chassis is constructed with a ladder frame design, onto which the suspension and drive train are fitted. The V8 engine, including turbochargers and other auxiliary equipment, is represented for a mechanical finish. The cabin is a cab-over type that can tilt forward up to 90 degrees, just like the actual vehicle. The interior is also faithfully recreated, including door panels. Chrome parts and decals enhance the final appearance.
