World Gift Donations

As the season of giving draws near, Plaza Japan wants to celebrate by donating some of our toys and modeling kits to World Gift, to be sent to children and families all around the world. In this article we'd like to highlight the work and efforts of this amazing organization we have the pleasure of working with to bring smiles and gifts to people's homes this holiday season.

World Gift is a Japanese non-profit organization that gives new life to everyday items, and new hope to people in need around the world. By collecting gently used clothes, toys, school supplies, and other household goods, World Gift delivers smiles and real support to communities facing hardship in developing countries. Beyond material aid, the organization helps provide food, medical care, clean water, and educational opportunities in places where help is needed most - showing how even small acts of kindness from Japan can reach far across the globe.

World Gift has brought assistance to over 100 countries like Cambodia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Uganda, Kenya, and Nepal, where poverty, limited education, and a lack of access to clean water or healthcare still affect everyday life. Through the simple act of donating items we no longer use or need, people in Japan can help bring comfort, learning, and hope to children and families around the world.

This year, our donation of toys and model kits to World Gift comes just in time for the Christmas season - a season of joy, generosity, and sharing. While these toys will bring smiles to children who might otherwise go without, the model kits also offer something special: a chance to learn, create, and build. They encourage patience, problem-solving, motor skills, and imagination - skills that help young minds and hands grow. We hope that through this small gesture, children everywhere can experience both the fun and the sense of accomplishment that come from making something with their own hands, or the comfort of their favourite characters in a new action figure.
