The KS/KV model Subaru Sambar, released as the fifth generation in 1990, adapted to the new kei car standards with an expanded engine capacity of 660cc.
The "Dias Classic" features a retro design and was introduced in 1993 as an addition to the premium-grade "Dias" van. It sparked a retro kei car boom in the late 1990s involving other companies as well.
Its charming appearance remains popular, and it can still be seen in use today as a mobile sales vehicle.
In the TLV-NEO series, the Sambar Dias Classic was produced in 2021 and received great acclaim. A new variant is now available.
N249e features a two-tone green/cream color added in 1996, while N249f presents the 40th Anniversary special edition commemorating the 40th anniversary of Subaru vehicles in 1998.
Despite its compact size of about 6 cm in length, the model has a passenger-side sliding door that opens and closes, enhancing its playability.
