From the E233-0 series, which began commercial operation in 2006, to the E233-8500 series, the total number of cars in service is 3,297, the largest number of cars of this series in the JR Group. The E233-8000 series was introduced on the Nambu Line in 2014, with a total of 35 trains. Dressed in the yellow, orange, and brown line livery, the train features a logo symbolizing "The Nambu Line connects towns and towns, and people" just behind the driver's compartment in the lead car, as well as a logo representing the cityscapes along the line along the line's color band on the side. Similar to the 6000 series on the Yokohama Line, the train also features a quasi-zenith satellite antenna stand and WiMAX antenna on the roof of the lead car.
