The Tokyu 5080 series is a train designed for the Meguro Line that debuted in 2003. It is capable of driver-only operations in conjunction with direct operations on the Tokyo Metro Namboku Line, Toei Mita Line, and Saitama Rapid Railway. Initially, all 10 trainsets were manufactured as six-car formations, but in 2022, two cars were added to make all trainsets eight-car formations. In March of the following year, through services with the Sotetsu Line began via the newly established Tokyu Shin-Yokohama Line. A distinctive blue line along the waist panel and two L-shaped antennas positioned on the roof of the train at the Shin-Yokohama end, due to centralized placement of radio antennas, are characteristic features.
Option Parts:
- The 5190 formation has been commercialized by incorporating a new car (Car 5) and a converted car from the 6000 series (Car 4) into an eight-car set.
- The corporate mark on the side of the train body displays "TOKYU CORPORATION" for Cars 1-3, 6-8, while the added Cars 4 and 5 display "TOKYU RAILWAYS."
- The front glass is pre-printed with the "8cars" display. There are no identification or caution stripes next to the crew doors or at the ends of the cars.
- Reproduction of the additional digital radio antennas installed on the roof of the lead car, with two L-shaped antennas concentrated on the roof of the Shin-Yokohama end lead car (5890).
- Cars 1-3, 5-8 feature Mitsubishi-made air conditioners (CU708 cooler), and Car 4 features a Hitachi-made air conditioner (HRB504 cooler) on the roof.
- The middle part of the formation is equipped with KATO couplers (tight-coupling, with hook) as standard, while the head has dummy couplers.
- Equipped with head/tail lights, front destination display lights (using white LED).
- Slotless motor used for smooth and quiet operation.
- The front display "Express Ebina" is pre-installed. Additional displays for "Local Uraga Misawa," "Local Nishitakashimadaira," and "Blank" are included as accessories.
- Side display is printed in black. Comes with destination display stickers.
