4 Kotobukiya Toys You Need For Your Collection!

Aug 31, 2017

Action figures are some of the most collectible and iconic pieces in the toy world. From classic comic book characters like Superman to video game characters like Danua from Granblue Fantasy, there are so many amazing characters out now to collect.

Today, our team at Plaza Japan is going to showcase 4 of the most incredible action figures from the Kotobukiya toys line. We will demonstrate how these characters not only have value, but also are fun to display around your home or office.

1) Superman For Tomorrow Figurine

Superman is probably the most synonymous figure when it comes to superheroes, and this Kotobukiya figurine derives from the For Tomorrow story arc of the Superman story. This story arc highlights two major events, “The Vanishing” and the creation of an alternative reality.

The figurine is 1/6 scale model and displays Superman in his traditional blue, red, and yellow attire. He poses in an action stance with his cape lifting up gently behind him. This statue from the short-run comic series is great for any fan or collector of Superman memorabilia, and if you really want to get the full collection from this line of Kotobukiya toys, also check out the separate Batman figurine.

2) Granblue Fantasy Danua Figurine

Next, we have Danua from the 2014 role-playing video game, Granblue Fantasy. This Japan-only release game follows a story arc based from the Final Fantasy series and follows characters with special powers that go around to fight in turn-based battles.
The 1/8 scale model shows Danua holding her magical dolls, as she searches for a way to resurrect her dead family members’ spirits. She has dark element powers, which she uses to seek revenge on those who took her family away from her.

3) Gorilla Grodd Figurine

Gorilla Grodd is one of the coolest looking Kotobukiya toys on our list. Based on the story arc of The Flash comic book series, first appearing in #106, Gorilla Grodd is a super-intelligent gorilla with mental powers and a villain to The Flash. The 1/10 scale figurine displays Gorilla Grodd in his war uniform holding a human skull in his left hand rose high for all to see.

4) The Amazing Spider-Man Figurine

The last Kotobukiya toy on our list is The Amazing Spider-Man from the eponymous movie franchise. Following a similar story to the original Spider-Man, the Amazing Spider-Man hosts different, more powerful supervillains than the original movies.

This 1/10 scale figurine features our hero Spider-Man in an action-ready pose. He crouches and prepares to spray his enemies with super sticky web shots from his wrist. This figurine is an excellent pick-up for any Spider-Man or movie fan collector.
