EF64-1000 (later model, Nagaoka Train Yard)
The EF64-1000 is a DC electric locomotive designed for use on steep gradient lines. Introduced in 1980 to replace older electric locomotives on the Takasaki and Joetsu lines, the EF64-1000 series locomotives from the Nagaoka Train Yard were active in hauling the sleeper express trains "Akebono" and "Hokuriku".
